jp9101 - project phoenix
Enhancing the ADF’s ability to securely communicate using voice and data from almost any location across the globe.
Project JP9101 is an initiative launched by the Australian Government aimed at upgrading the Australian Defence Force’s high frequency (HF) communications systems. Critical in modern threat environments where local infrastructure or satellite communication may not be reliable, JP9101’s primary objective is to enhance the ADF’s ability to communicate securely using voice and data from almost anywhere.
Under the direction of Babcock Australasia (as prime) on this AU$2 billion project, Ebor will be refreshing and extending the Nullarbor array receiver capabilities and building on the more than 25-year pedigree started with Project Sahara.
Key project deliverables:
- Building new communication sites across Australia, including a significant site near Darwin.
- Establishing a software development centre in Adelaide
- Strengthening Australia’s sovereign industrial capability in high frequency communications.
Phoebe Digital Twin
Phoebe Digital Twin is a collaborative, digital, multi-domain planning tool for the Australian Defence Force.
A strategic initiative by the Australian Department of Defence to enhance Defence planning, Phoebe is part of a broader project to ingrate advanced technologies into the ADF’s operations.
The project involves developing several subsystems, including a simulation coordination and evaluation system, a joint fires mission module, and live link information channels. Constructed from a project originally built by Ebor (jSWAT), Phoebe has more than 25 years of development as her foundation.
Ebor is working as one of five contributing companies in this multi-million dollar project in one of the first example of agile project management across a consortium.
Project Objective:
- Phoebe is designed to support not only the ADF but also to enhance interoperability with allied forces.
- The project aims to provide robust, resilient and secure planning capabilities in different Defence domains.
